It helps keep muscles flexible, strong, and healthy. It helps prevent injuries and body aches, increases the range of motion in our joints, and increases blood flow to the muscles. Stretching also reduces stress by calming the mind, it increases our quality of sleep, and reduces headaches. Many of us carry a lot of tightness in our muscles and joints, from both emotional tension and from straining physical activities.
