R + R // Dejah

That we cannot still the mind. Our brains process through over 60,000 thoughts in a day, most of which are unconscious. To think we can stop it, is unrealistic. However, we can become the observer, thus detaching from the suffering of our thoughts. Restorative yoga seeks to heal the parasympathetic aspects of our mind and body. Give rest to our constant state of “fight or flight” by which the mind is able to take a step back and rest, reset, and restore. And this is the beginning of inner healing.

R&R yoga incorporates aspects from various yogic styles and philosophies to provide deep rest and relaxation for the mind, body and spirit. Class may include restorative poses, long luscious holds, gentle asana, breathwork, mantra, Essential oils, meditation and nidra.

The main focus is that by relaxing in poses, with the aid of props, without strain or pain, we can achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. Restorative yoga

classes are very relaxing and slow paced. Props, like blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in your pose comfortably. You will then hold the pose for an extended period of time. This practice is great to balance an active yoga schedule or to give yourself a break when you feel under the weather.
